Journey From Ethiopia

A brief look into our adoption journey as we seek to bring our child home.

Support Our Adoption
Again, thank you so much for taking the time to look at our website. You cared enough about our journey to take time out of your day to find out more. We appreciate your support!

There may be some of you who would like to continue your support in other ways. The most important support to us is prayer. We cannot complete this process without God’s guidance and blessing.

Please pray for the following:

Favor with those involved and a smooth process.
Health and care of our child while in Ethiopia.
Ability to raise money for all expenses within given time constraints.
An easy transition for our child, as well as ourselves.
Everything else we did not mention…………

Financial Support:

As you may have read on our home page, the cost of our adoption will be around $20,000. We have some money in savings, but will need to raise the majority of the fees. If you feel led to provide financial support, you might be interested in the following information:

There are over 34 million orphans in Africa, 12 million of whom were orphaned by HIV/AIDS. These children have names, faces and stories, just like your children. So many of these children are being forgotten. Katie’s sister, Amy, has created several prints from her original artwork designed to bring awareness to the crisis in Africa. These prints are available for purchase at www.project8256.etsy.com. The proceeds will go to fund our adoption. By no means are we trying to insinuate that our adoption is the answer to this crisis. Our hope is that conversations would begin and an increased awareness would happen for those who are reading this.

When you purchase a print, card or magnet, you will not only be supporting our adoption, but you will be supporting AHOPE For Children, an orphanage in Ethiopia for HIV+ children. We feel it is important to support the children in Africa living with this horrible disease. We will be donating a percentage of the proceeds to this fantastic organization.

Thank you so much for your support,
Michael and Katie
